Summit on the Park

Summit on the Park Annual Maintenance Shutdown

Summit of the Park will be closed:

Monday, August 25 at 8 p.m. - Saturday, August 30, 6 a.m.

for it's annual maintenance. If you have any questions, please contact the Summit Front Desk at 734/394-5460.

 

The Summit on the Park community center is a 95,000 square foot cultural and recreational jewel in the heart of our community in the beautiful 105-acre Heritage Park. The $16 million complex includes a wide array of outstanding cultural and recreational amenities. Its unique design is topped by a 75-foot high glass tower and massive copper and glass superstructure.The Summit is open year-round and offers daily, monthly, and annual passes.

Summit on the Park provides a welcoming environment for the Canton Community to gather with amenities for a variety of activities, including a banquet & conference center, aquatic center, fitness center, gymnasium, track and meeting rooms.

The staff at the front desk are ready to help you purchase a membership, sign-up for a class or program, purchase pro shop items or gift certificates, and answer questions about the Summit and all Leisure Services programs, events, and facilities.

Our Building Attendants are responsible for enforcing policies and procedures, assisting guests with requests/concerns, and ensuring that the facility is safe.

Recreation and Fitness Center

The fitness center offers 6,000 square feet of space for members and guests. Over 30 pieces of cardiovascular fitness equipment, over 40 pieces of strength equipment, stretching area and plenty of natural light. Locker rooms are located next to the fitness center to provide guests with the space they need. Fitness Center staff can help you become familiar with fitness equipment.

Equipment available in the fitness center, includes:

  • 17 selectorized strength pieces from Paramount, Cybex, Magnum, Strive and Nautilus
  • 8 plate-loaded strength pieces from Paramount, Magnum, Cybex and Strive
  • 8 Precor Elliptical Trainers
  • 11 Precor Treadmills
  • 2 Precor Stationary bicycles
  • 2 new Concept II Rowing Ergometers
  • Nu-Step Recumbent Stair Climbers (designed with Senior adults in mind)
  • Rubber-Coated Plates and Dumbbells
  • Smith Machine
Aerobic Studio

The aerobic studio provides an excellent space for most land fitness classes.

Gymnasium

The gymnasium provides court space for basketball, volleyball and badminton. The gym can be divided to host two separate activities, or opened up to allow full-court basketball.

Walk-Jog Track

The 1/16 of a mile track is suspended above the gymnasium. There are walk, jog and running lanes for guests of all abilities.

Locker Rooms

There are locker rooms across from the gymnasium that primarily support the Aquatic Center and gymnasium. The large locker rooms provide access to the Aquatic Center. Opposite gender children are not allowed in the respective locker rooms. There are two Special Accommodations Locker Rooms that are designated for parents and children not old enough to be unattended and for guests that might require assistance from a care provider.

Racquetball Court

The racquetball court is available by reservation for members and guests who like to play this fast-paced game.

Dance Studios

There are three dance studios on the second floor, ranging in size from 700 square feet to 1,300 square feet.
