Camp Canton is a week-long day camp licensed by the State of Michigan. Activity filled days keep our campers busy with sports, crafts, swimming, theme days, guest speakers and an "off-site" field trip every Wednesday. Campers must bring a lunch, water bottle, sunscreen, swimsuit and towel everyday. Tennis shoes are also necessary for total involvement in everything Camp Canton has to offer.

PreSchool Camps

Wanna teach your preschooler a little about what life was like before handheld video games, twenty-four hour cartoon networks and sippy cups? We'll spend the week taking an interesting look at what life was like for children growing up in different times. We'll learn about historical games, what their schools were like, family-life and much more. A great way to introduce history to your preschooler in an interactive and engaging way.


Sensational Sensory Science Camp (Register Online 3808.624)

Things are going to bubble and ooze… they'll fizzle and sizzle… and your preschooler will have their hands in all the spectacular science experiments that we can pack into a single week of highly interactive learning fun. Science can get a little messy sometimes, so please come dressed in some goo and gakfriendly gear. We'll do our best to keep it at a minimum… but you know how preschoolers are!

Once Upon an Easel - "Color My World" Art Camp (Register Online 3808.708)

This summer's theme will encompass many favorite artists that painted in particular color schemes as well as the painting of various Cityscapes and Countryscapes. This is a great opportunity for young people to discover their creativity and develop their own skills, while using a wide variety of techniques and mediums in drawing, painting, pastels, 3-dimensional projects and more.

Calling all Princesses! Make your little lady's dreams come true as she spends the week living & playing like royalty! Princess-themed songs, crafts, stories and more! Your nature-loving child will love our Mudpuppy Nature Camp designed specially for preschoolers! We will see nature up-close, play nature-themed games and make nature crafts!

Bricks 4 Kidz - Little Brick Builder (Register Online 3808.729)

Preschoolers can take part in model building using large Lego Duplo bricks. Your child's eyes will light up as they build various models of zoo animals or summer items using lego Duplo Blocks. This Bricks 4 Kidz camp will reinforce developmentally appropriate concepts such as counting and patterning, recognizing colors and shapes, ordering, sequencing and more.

Attention Aqua-Nuts! Does your tiny Octonaut adore anything below sea level? We'll spend the week exploring life in our big blue seas. This highly interactive camp will use splashy stories, science, games, crafts, and more to give your preschooler a unique educational experience that's just dripping with fun!

This camp will help polish your preschooler's Kindergarten Readiness Skills right before they hop on the school bus this Fall! We will focus on reading and language, numbers and counting, and important social and motor skills and activities. Our instructors will use educational fun and games and to get your child get excited for school and will help begin their official transition from preschooler to soon-to-be kindergarten student!

Super Science Camp

Children will make entertaining discoveries through hands-on science experiments and exciting demonstrations. Each day, students will perform several experiments and will get to take home multiple items.

July Camp Topics will include Light, Sound, Chemistry, Physics, Electricity, Astronomy, Water, Air, Heat, & Magnets.

August Camp Topics will include Crime Scene Science, Engineering, Chemistry, Senses, Simple Machines, Math, and Mother Earth.

Please send a snack and drink for your child each day. Contact the Summit regarding possible food restrictions.

Baton Twirling Camp (Register Online 4015.361)

Ages: 5 - 15

Practice flat spin, elbow roll, double neck wrap series, and much more! Including basic march for practice and competition, as well as parades. Twirlers also enjoy talent shows, halftimes, pageants, fairs, festivals, camps, besides meeting new friends, entering competition and marching in parades. Wear comfortable clothing, running shoes, long hair back.

New/used batons available from instructor at first class $13 - $27.

Magic Camp (Register Online 4008.381)

Ages: 7 - 10 yrs

Learn to amaze your friends and family with a little magic. This camp will teach you several magic tricks and presentation skills to perfect your act. Ending the week with a diploma and each person performing for a family audience of the students with our end of the course Magic Show! Each student will choose a trick and present it in their own special way.

$6 supply fee due at camp. Class taught by Magic Joe.

Bricks for Kidz Summer Camps: Ninjago Camp

Calling all Ninjago enthusiasts to join us for out new fun-filled camp inspired by Ninjago. Each day campers will be building various models based on Ninjago Theme. Campers will be playing Lego Ninja games and will be participating in challenges.

Remote Control Mania Camp (Register Online 4625.391)

Campers will love seeing their creations in motion using LEGO® wireless remote controls. Each day, campers will use fascinating and challenging LEGO® components to create dynamic vehicles, inventions and more. As they enjoy the fun of building, campers will understand the basic working principles of many ingenious devices that are part of our everyday lives.

Animal Grossology Camp (Register Online 4625.392)

If you're fascinated by the weird but true, wild and wacky, gross and yucky, then this is the camp for you! Spend the week discovering the zany biology of our animal friends. Each day we'll explore fascinating facts about the animal kingdom, focusing on a "creature of the day". Build a different animal model each day and fill your very own "Animal Grossolgy" booklet with crazy and cool facts you learn, complete with a picture of each model, become a certified Bricks 4 Kidz Grossologoist.

Space Explorers Camp (Register Online 4625.393)

Inspired by NASA and Star Wars, Space Explorers' camp at Bricks 4 Kidz has various models that will make your budding astronaut's imagination blast off! Each Day, campers will build models using LEGO® bricks related to NASA space program and learn about real life space exploration. In addition,
the day includes LEGO® Star Wars theme models, group games and challenges.

Extreme Explorers Camp (Register Online 4625.394)

Form a team to face the challenge of our extreme expedition camp. Search the globe for bricks and other resources needed to construct a base in the Himalayan Mountains and complete your expedition. Encounter Worst Case Scenario survival challenges, face forces of nature, and construct transportation equipment to bring your team together from around the globe. Do you have what it takes to face extreme brick adventures?

Youth Basketball Camp

Camp will emphasize drills and skills that cover offensive strategies and defensive plays in game situations. The morning will be spent on drills focused on improving fundamentals, while the afternoon will be used to scrimmage. The camp fee includes instruction and t-shirt. Participants should bring water bottle & sack lunch.

Youth Baseball Camp

Camp will emphasize drills and skills that cover cradling, passing, throwing and plays in game situations. The morning will be spent on drills focused on improving fundamentals, while the afternoon will be used to scrimmage.

Junior Lifeguard Camp

The week long camp will provide campers the opportunity to work side by side certified lifeguards. During the class you will learn water safety, improve your swimming skills, rescue techniques, CPR and the use of professional Lifesaving equipment. Please Note that the camp will not certify you as a lifeguard, it serves as an introductory course.

Playground Program

Canton Activity Crew

The Canton Activity Crew is back again for another memorable summer for the kids in Canton.

This supervised drop-in outdoor play-based program occurs five days a week at several park/playground locaitons around Canton.

There is a one-time registration fee per child of $20, which includes participation at any site for the duration of the summer. Our counselors will bring crafts, games, and wacky theme days. All registration is done on-site at our designated park locations.

Camp A.B.L.E.
June 17 - August 9
Cherry Hill School

Camp A.B.L.E. is a summer camp for children ages 8 - 14 with disabilities

Fees:

  • M/W/F - $38/day
  • T/TH - $28/day

For over 14 summers, this camp has been extremely successful and has set the precedent for Therapeutic Recreation camps to be modeled after throughout Western Wayne County.

Participants take part in a variety of activities throughout the day, interacting with their peers, enhancing social skills, fross an fine motore skills, and gaining independence.

Camp A.B.L.E. runs Monday-Friday, consists of 3 field trips per week (normally Mon, Wed, Fri). Participants may be registered by the day for camp.
