Is available on the 3rd Monday of each month, 1-3 p.m. in the Parkview Room of the Summit. This free service is provided by the Oakwood Healthcare System. No appointments are necessary.
SILVER FOX STRIDERS

packet.
If you like to walk, track your progress, receive rewards for goals met, and have the support of a group, then this club is for you!
This FREE walking club is for
all Senior Canton Residents and non-resident Senior Summit members ONLY.
Registration is always open, so join the club at any time.
To keep membership active you must track your walking on the calendars provided for at least four months within a year. Club members meet three times a year to receive rewards for goals met, gain support from fellow walkers and talk about club news.
All walking is done at the Summit during designated times for $1 (free for those with a Summit membership).
Silver Fox Striders Water Walking for the Winter will be M/W/F from 12:30 - 3 pm.
Are offered each fall by The Medical Team a the Summit. Registration is necessary. Information will be available in Silver Threads, or call the Senior Desk at 734/394-5485.
Area health organization: St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, Henry Ford Health System, and Oakwood Health Care System sponsor health-related presentations and lectures at no charge throughout the year to Canton seniors.

You may also benefit from the Arthritis Foundation Exercise Program. These classes are designed specifically for people with arthritis and related conditions. Two different class levels will offer exercise variations for different ranges of abilities. Monday and Wednesday, 10:30 - 11:15 a.m.
For Information on adaptive equipment in the home, and interpretive services, contact the Deaf and Hearing Impaired Services at 248/473-1888.
For Concerns about nursing home care or placement information, contact Elder law of Michigan, Inc. at their toll free number: 866/485-6393. This agency is designated "Long Term Care Ombudsman" for the State of Michigan.
For assistance with any hearing problems you may have, contact the Deaf, Hearing and Sign Language Center at 313/341-1353. This non-profit agency can provide total audiology services, including hearing aid services.
Country Line Dancing
Tuesdays, 1 - 3 p.m.
Maple Room, Summit on the Park
Please Register at the Seniors Front Desk
Beginners and experienced dancers welcome! For this
2-hour class, you can pay each time you attend. You
register at the Summit Front Desk. The class can accommodate
beginners as well as intermediate students.
From 1:00-1:30, the class will concentrate on
Beginning Basics; from 1:30-3:00 new dances will be
introduced.
Fitness is Ageless Program
Ages: 55 and up Fee: FREE
Taught by seniors, for seniors, these "common sense" classes feature exercises to music to strengthen your balance, increase your flexibility and endurance for daily life activities, and socialize. Chairs are available for those who would prefer to use them throughout the class. Please, you must pre-register at the Senior Desk and sign a waiver prior to the first class.
Classes are held in the Maple Room.
Senior Volleyball
Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, January 2 - April 25, 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.
No Online Registration
New! Senior competitive volleyball here at the Summit.
If you know how to play volleyball, and would like
to meet other volleyball players, join this class. Please
pre-register at the Senior Desk and sign a medical
waiver prior to your first time playing. For members of
the Summit, there is no charge. No volleyball classes
on 2/29 and 3/3.
Senior Bounce Volleyball
Tuesdays, Jan 8 - April 30, 1 - 3 p.m.
