2008 Spring Fitness
Class Schedule 2008 Spring Aquatic
Class Schedule |
Parent/Child Aquatics
The purpose of this course is to develop in young children a beginning comfort level in and around the water. This course does not teach children to be accomplished swimmers or to survive alone in the water. One parent or guardian MUST BE IN THE WATER with the child and will assist the instructor in developing water adjustment. Infants must wear swim diapers. It is suggested that parents bring their child's favorite water-safe toy to class. This is an excellent opportunity for parents to share an educational experience with their child. Some of the other benefits of this program include bonding and trust between parents and their children.
Preschool Aquatics (Ages 4 to 5 years)
Based on the American Red Cross and National Safety Council's Learn to Swim programs, our classes will offer a variety of fun and challenging opportunities. We believe that all children are unique and should learn at a rate that is comfortable for them. After initial assistance and support by the instructor, children in our preschool programs will progress to independent movements. All participants will be tested by our instructors during the first class period, then broken down into groups based on their comfort/apprehension levels. Some of the benefits of this program include learning to interact with others, improved self confidence and a basic appreciation of water safety and swimming.
