Western Wayne County Partnership

Canton Township and the communities of Livonia, Westland, Northville, Wayne, and Plymouth are pleased to enter into a partnership with Wayne County to provide recreation services for individuals with disabilities. A grant from Wayne County will allow these Western Wayne communities to collaborate to provide additional therapeutic recreation programs in the coming months.

Leisure Club

This program is for individuals ages 15 and up with physical and/or mental impairments, promoting participant social skills and independence in the community. Pre-registration will be necessary for all Leisure Club activities and takes place at the front desk of the Summit. Questions?

Adapted Swimming Lessons

This class is specifically designed to teach basic swim skills to children with physical and/or cognitive impairments. It incorporates a low instructor/participant ratio to facilitate a safe and positive learning environment. Parents/Care givers are encouraged to enter the water with the participant, but it is not required. Class size is small, early registration is recommended.
