Parent/Child Aquatics
The purpose of this course is to develop in young children a beginning comfort level in and around the water.
This course does not teach children to be accomplished swimmers or to survive alone in the water.
One parent or guardian MUST BE IN THE WATER with the child and will assist the instructor in developing water adjustment. Infants must wear swim diapers.
Preschool Aquatices (ages 4-5 years)
Youth Aquatics (ages 6-8 years)
Based on the American Red Cross and National Safety Council's Learn to Swim programs, our classes will offer a variety of fun and challenging opportunities.
We believe that all children are unique and should learn at a rate that is comfortable for them. After initial assistance and support by the instructor, children in our preschool programs will progress to independent movements.
All participants will be tested by our instructors during the first class period, then broken down into groups based on their comfort/apprehension levels.
Summit Sharks
(ages 6-8 years)
Summit Sharks encompasses the full range of aquatic skills, from beginning to advanced, appropriate for lifelong enjoyment of the water. All students will be tested the first day of class then placed with students of a similar ability level. They will then be given swim instruction that is deemed appropriate by their instructors.
Competitive Strokework
(ages 8-16 years)
This program is designed for children with advanced swimming skills who are interested in joining a swim team.
Before joining this class, participants must be able to successfully swim two lengths of the front crawl, backstroke, breaststroke, and 1 length of butterfly or have approval from their swim instructor or the swim lesson coordinator.
Emphasis will be placed on developing proper stroke techniques, turns, and workouts.
Teen and Adult Learn to Swim
Ages 15+ years
This program is geared toward individuals with little or no swimming experience, but have the desire to learn.
The skills introduced in these classes will depend upon the expressed needs of the participants.
Our instructors will teach proper breathing, kicking, floatation and propulsion techniques and help each participant put together a beginner stroke.
Teen and Adult FIT Aquatics
(ages 15+
This program is geared toward individuals that can swim at least 1 length of the pool and have a will to learn the fitness aspect of swimming.
The exact skills introduced in these classes will depend upon the expressed needs of the participants.
Our instructors will teach proper use of the pace clock, turns, stroke technique, ect.
