Experience Old Tyme Farm Days at Preservation Park

(Canton, MI – July 16, 2010) If you are in the mood for an historical experience, head on over to the Old Tyme Farm Days at Preservation Park on July 24 & 25, 2010. Get an up close look at the history of agriculture, courtesy of the Early Engine Club of Southeastern Michigan.

Enjoy an exceptional display of antique tractors, engines and operating machinery dating back to the early 1900s. See how tractors and other farm tools and machinery have progressed over time and marvel at just how far we’ve come with technological advances on the farm. This unique display will take place from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. around the grounds of the Bartlett-Travis House, located at 500 N. Ridge Road. There will also be hayrides, blacksmithing and plowing demos, as well as a corn mill.

Be sure to take in the sounds of the Kaiser Family Band on Sunday from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. This FREE concert features: Greg Kaiser on Guitar/Banjo; Ken Kaiser on Rhythm Guitar; Ben Catt on Hammered Dulcimer; Kelly Kaiser on Fiddle; and Lynne Ellen Kaiser on Bass.

While experiencing Old Tyme Farm Days, remember to stop by the Canton Farmers Market on Sunday from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. for locally harvested fruits and vegetables. The Farmers Market recently added Zingerman's Creamery & Artisan Bread & Kurc Acres Farm for a total of 24 Michigan food vendors. Master Gardeners will also be on-site to answer your questions. This popular market is open every Sunday now through October 17, rain or shine.
