Canton Community Zumba Fundraiser To Benefit Haiti
Canton, MI, March 5, 2010 - We’ve all seen the pictures of homeless, hungry people of Haiti wandering the streets looking for aid after the recent natural disaster. If you’d like to make a difference and help bring relief to so many who need it, then plan on attending "Zumba for Haiti" on March 13, 2010 at the Summit on the Park. All proceeds from this special fundraising event will go to the American Red Cross Relief fund to the aid the people of Haiti who were devastated by the recent earth quake.
This event, organized by Dede Dalton and Laurel Larsen to showcase community unity and support the people of Haiti, will take place from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. Free drop-in child care will be provided at the Kids Corner for children 3 months – 9 years of age who’s parents are participating in this fundraiser.
Area Zumba instructors and the Summit on the Park are coming together to help the Canton community make a difference. Participants in this Saturday night Zumba party are asked to make a minimum suggested cash donation of $5.
If you’ve never tried Zumba, you’re in for a treat. This popular dance-fitness class is more like a party than exercise and features Latin, international and pop music that’s so infectious you can’t help moving to the beat. Classes are packed and overflowing all over the world!
Generous contributions from local businesses and area fitness instructors have helped make this event possible. DJ services by Silver Sounds DJ and all instructor services have been donated so that 100% of all cash donations will go directly to the Red Cross and their relief efforts. In addition, door prizes have generously been donated by area merchants, including: TGI Friday, Jimmy Johns, In Style Salon, Kroger, High Velocity, Curves, FitZone, The Summit on the Park, Bath and Body Works, Sephora, Sam’s Club, Panera Bread, La Vida Massage, Beauty First, and Mary Kay. To top off this evening of fun, fitness, and friendship there will be a raffle for a $556 gift basket generously donated by Donovan’s Salon; tickets are $1 each.
This benefit event will take place at the Summit on the Park, located at 46000 Summit Parkway in Canton, Michigan, 48188. So grab your friends and family to join us for an evening to remember that will help the people of Haiti. For more information, visit Cantonfun.org or call 734/394-5460.
