Five Year Master Plan: 2011 -2016
High quality recreation opportunities and park amenities have played a vital role in making Canton Township a desirable place to live, work and play. Township leaders have again and again supported the efforts of the nationally acclaimed Canton Leisure Services Department as it endeavors to "Create Great Experience" for Canton residents and area visitors. Canton's parks, recreation facilities and community events continue to be enhanced through hard work and planning. One of the major components of planning is the development of a parks and recreation master plan.
The most current Canton Leisure Services Five Year Master Plan 2011- 2016 was adopted by the Township Board of Trustees on December 13, 2011. This plan will be utilized by the Department to guide decisions for planning future programs and enhancements to existing facilities.
The public was given the opportunity to submit input on a variety of topics including recreation programs and services they would like to see offered in the future.
This feedback was used in setting department goals and objectives that meet the community's needs over the next five years.
Leisure Services Strategic Plan
The Canton Leisure Services Strategic Plan is an administrative tool that incorporates the department's mission, vision, values, goals, competencies, financial information along with community demographics and trends. The Strategic Plan will guide the department in years to come.
