Leisure Services Activities and News

Leisure Services programs are led by the Recreation Division. Programming is developed for people of all ages, including preschool, youth and teens,adults and seniors.Specific areas include Aquatics, Athletics, the Canton Sports Center, the B.L.O.C.K. Teen Center,the Senior Adults Program, Youth Development (Teens), Health/ Wellness and Special Events.

The activities and programs provide opportunities for families and friends to build relationships, create a sense of belonging in the community, and positively impact the local economy.

The Leisure Services Department comprises three divisions- Parks, Recreation/Facilities and Golf plus Central Services which serves as the clearinghouse for communications, accounts payable and personnel issues.

The respective divisions are responsible for the administrative functions required to lead the diverse and rapidly growing operation that allows for coordination of resources which ensures effective and efficient delivery of services.

Canton Township prides itself on providing an excellent system of parks which offer a variety of activities for residents, plus a place for families to gather for picnics and other outdoor activities. Park pavilions and the gazebo in Heritage Park are available for rental by community groups and individuals.

Summit on the Park - Discover the extraordinary. This state of the art facility is the heart of the Canton community and features a fitness center, personal training, aquatic center, banquet and conference center, full size gymnasium, racquetball court, child care facilities and a program or event for any age or interest.

Victory Park - The gateway to sports in Canton featuring Canton Sports Center, Arctic Edge Ice Arena and High Velocity Sports. If sports is your game, it's at Victory Park.

Parks - Relax and meet your neighbors at one of Canton's many parks which serve as the front porch to our community. There are pavilions available for rent, playgrounds to use, paths to walk or blade, places to sit and ponder and lots of places for fun.

Culture and Heritage - The arts are alive in Canton. The Village Theater in Cherry Hill opened in September 2004, and features arts for all. Nestled in the heart of Cherry Hill Village the theater is adjacent to the historic Cherry Hill School which is available for rent along with the renovated Bartlett-Travis home.

Pheasant Run Golf Club and Fellows Creek Golf Club - Canton is home to two 27-hole golf courses. We cater to the novice or the experienced golfer. Check out the great spring and summer rates.

Senior Services- Live longer younger!! There's sports, there's music, there's drama, there's dance, there's trips, there's fellowship, there's something for you at the Senior Center.
