Dog Park Update - October 15, 2013

Canton will begin to winterize our Dog Park on October 15, 2013, by draining water spigots and shutting off the water.

It is necessary to shut off water before the first frost or freeze to avoid broken pipes and waterlines.

These amenities will be turned back on as soon as spring temperatures remain consistently nonfreezing, generally in late March or early April.

Please note: The dog park is open year-round, weather permitting.

Attention Dog Park Members: Be sure to take advantage of these FREE informational sessions, featuring an obedience trainer from K-9 Academy Training Facility. These experts will be on site at the Canton Dog Park at special times in July and August to provide answers for your dog behavioral questions. Come with your dog or without. Click here for details.

The electronic gate entry system at the Canton Dog Park has been activated. Just a reminder that all members will need to use their key fobs to enter and exit the park. Look for the big red arrows that designate where to swipe your key fob.

Key Fobs are currently available at the Clerk's Office with Dog Park memberships and renewals. A refundable key fob security deposit of $20 will be collected at time of registration and returned when membership is discontinued and the key fob is returned.

Only one key fob per household will be issued.

For more information, please contact the Parks Office at 734/394-5310.

All 2013 licenses and permits expired on December 31, 2013.

In order to license a dog or a dog park membership, a valid and current certificate of vaccination for rabies and DHLPP (Distemper) must be provided, signed by an accredited veterinarian.
