Yappy Hour at the Canton Dog Park
Location: Canton Dog Park
Date: Sunday, July 27
Time: 11 am to 12 pm

Had a "ruff" week? Dog Park members can bring their pooch to the Canton Dog Park and mingle with other dog lovers! During this event onsite dog training tips will be provided by local trainers "Bark Busters," snacks and give-a-ways will also be provided by Pet Supplies Plus of Canton. No pre-registration is required, although a membership to the Canton Dog Park is required. For more details, call 734/394-5460.

Rally on Ridge To Benefit Canton Farmers Market
Tuesday, July 29 from 6-9 pm

Area residents are invited to enjoy a festive evening of food, music, and more to benefit the Canton Farmers Market, which is currently celebrating its 7th season. Stop by the Cherry Hill School and The Village Theater area, located at 50400 Cherry Hill Road, and enjoy activities for all ages, including: live music featuring local artist; Food Truck fare from The Rolling Stoves, Shimmy Shack, The Mean Weenie, Rolling Stone and Jacque's Tacos; bouncer and bouncer and lawn games on the Cherry Hill School lawn; Ice Cream Social in Cherry Hill School from 6:30-8:00 p.m. with ice cream that just $1 per person; and cocktails, which are available for purchase inside The Village Theater during musical performances. Tiny Tot Olympics 2014
When: Saturday, August 2
Where: Heritage Park Amphitheater
Time: 10:30 am - 12:00 pm
Ages: 2-6 years old
Fee: $3 per child

Join us for this gold medal celebration! Children will participate in our "Olympic" events that are just the right size for them. Each participant will receive their very own gold medal! Bring along your camera for this great photo opportunity! No pre-registration required.

Bite Into Summer Fun during Shark Week in Canton!
July 31-August 9

Make a big splash with Shark Week events all week! Stop by the Summit Lobby from August 4-8 for a cut-out photo opportunity with a shark, and enjoy a "shark-free zone" during open swim at the Summit Aquatic Center!

  • Thursday, July 31 - FREE Concert Moose and Da Sharks, shark crafts and activities. 7:30-9 pm, Heritage Park Amphitheater
  • Sunday, August 3 - Farmers Market Themed "Shark Food" activity for kids 9 am-1 pm, Preservation Park
  • Wednesday, August 6 - Schoolhouse Rock Concert Series The Fun Guys, shark crafts and activities 6:30-8:30 pm, Dodson Elementary FREE and open to the public
  • Thursday, August 7 - FREE Movie Night Soul Surfer (rated PG) shown on big screen at dusk 7:30 pm, Heritage Park Amphitheater

Cardboard Boat Race
August 9, 3:30 pm -5:30 pm
Summit on the Park Aquatic Center

Don't miss out on the fun! See how well you can build a boat using only cardboard and duct tape then race it to the finish line at the Summit's Aquatic Center. Prizes will be awarded! Boat dimensions should be less than 5 1/2-feet wide by 10-feet long. Boat entry fees are $10 for Summit members; $15 for Canton residents; and $20 for non-residents. Cost per Night Out: $20M/$25R/$30NR (per child)

We're doing Friday night right!

Monthly, kids ages 5 to 12 are welcome to a supervised evening of swimming, games, pizza and beverages, and a movie.

Registration closes the Thursday prior to each date. Please allow ample time to complete the waiver form upon drop off at your first Kids' Night Out.

Canton Township receives a great deal of interest from entertainers, please allow a reasonable amount of time to review submitted materials. All information will be kept in our resource files for future consideration.

There is much tradition in the events that Canton Leisure Services hosts. There are so many events that take place every year, becoming an annual outing for many local families.

 

The best way to make sure you don't miss out on your favorite event is to become a Fan of Canton Leisure Services.

Canton Leisure Services hosts over 60 events every year and there is always something for everyone.

From traditional annual events such as Liberty Fest and Family Camp-Out and Movie Night, to newer events such as the Farmers Market and the Princess/Superhero Dance, you can always and something fun, close to home and affordable to do in Canton.
