Summit on the Park Ballroom & Gymnasium

Tickets on saleat Summit on the Park now for Residents; for Non-Residents Monday, January 27.

Advance ticket purchase is required. Ticket sales end for everyone on February 6, we apologize but there will be no exceptions.

Enjoy dancing to age-appropriate music, refreshments, a special butterfly souvenir and the exciting ballon-drop at the end of the dance.

Keepsake photos will be available for an additional cost. Semi-formal/dressy casual attire recommended.

Corsage orders must be placed at the time of ticket purchase. They will not be for sale at the event.

Disaster Animal Response Team Training (DART)
February 17-19
Summit on the Park

Registration deadline: February 3, 2012

During an emergency or disaster, taking care of animals requires advance planning and individuals who know how to handle and move animals to safety.

The Disaster Animal Response Team Training (DART) is the premier basic training for building community preparedness for animals in disaster and for preparing animal disaster responders nationwide.

This three-day workshop is designed to familiarize participants with the necessary elements of team-building and provide the background necessary to become an effective emergency animal relief responder.

The class includes three days of mixed classroom/ tabletop/hands-on instruction.

Cost: $195

Attendance is required all 3 days.

Snow Skiing and Snow Shoeing Event at the Trail
Sunday, February 19
10 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Come to the Lower Rouge Trail, located off Michigan Avenue at Morton Taylor for an outdoor adventure.

Hot cocoa and snacks will be available for a small donation.

Equipment
Participants are encourage to bring their own equipment, or Leisure Services will make arrangements for snow ski equipment for you (Limited quatities of equipment available. Prices will be available in January 2012.

Call 734/394-5474 before Monday, February 11 to make equipment rental arrangements.

If there isn't enough snow for skiing and shoeing, please join us for a scenic walk on the trail.

It's a .... Snow Day!

Date: Any day Plymouth Canton Community Schools are canceled due to snow

Time: 1 - 4 p.m.

Where: Heritage Park Amphitheater

Cost: Free!

Join Leisure Services Recreation Division staff for games, activities, and a whole lot of memory-making fun. Warm beverages may be available for purchase.

Mid-Winter Break Camp
February 20 - 24, 7 a.m. - 6 p.m.

Looking to keep your children active during this year's Mid-Winter Break?

Sign up for Camp Canton at the Summit on the Park.

Make art, play sports, meet new friends and swim in the Summit's pool.

Registration Fees:

  • $38/day resident
  • $50/day non-resident

Teen Night Out
Every Friday Night: 6:30 - 10:30 p.m.
BLOCK Youth & Teen Center

Event fees range from $5-8.

TNO is a series of Friday night events designed just for teens.

All events meet or take place at the BLOCK. We encourage you to register in advance.

Canton Leisure Services offers summer programs for all ages and all interests. Representatives from over 25 different camps will be onsite to answer questions. Parents and children are welcome.

Easter Eggstravanganza
Saturday. March 31
10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Heritage Park (near the playscape & splash playground)

Ages: Up to 11 yrs.

Cost: $2 per child participating

Enjoy a variety of Easter and spring themed activities. Egg hunts run continuous between 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

Annual Mother/Son Dance
Friday, May 11, 6:30-8:30 p.m.
Summit Grand Ballroom

Celebrate Mothers's Day in a special way. Moms, Aunts, Grandmothers and more are welcome for an evening of dancing. Light refreshments and balloon-drop finale! Souvenir photos will be available for an additional cost at the dance.

 

There is much tradition in the events that Canton Leisure Services hosts. There are so many events that take place every year, becoming an annual outing for many local families.
